Lip filler uses a hyaluronic acid gel to add volume, shape and definition to the lips. It can also soften fine lines around the mouth and improve balance between the upper and lower lip. Results are visible right away.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the skin, but this does not make filler risk-free.

What to expect
Consultation
Your provider talks with you about the look you want, from subtle to fuller, and explains what filler can do for your lips.
During the treatment
Numbing cream is applied, and most lip fillers also contain a numbing medicine. The filler is injected in small amounts. Treatment takes about 30 minutes.
After the treatment
Swelling is common and is often most noticeable the next day. It usually settles within a few days to a week. Bruising can happen. Avoid strenuous exercise for a day. Filler can rarely block a blood vessel, causing tissue injury, blindness or stroke. Seek immediate medical attention for vision changes, unusual severe pain or skin turning white or dusky after treatment.
Results
You see results right away, with the final look once swelling goes down. Lip filler usually lasts about 6 to 12 months.

Will my lips look natural?
Our providers aim for results that fit your face. Starting with a smaller amount and adding more later is always an option.
Can lip filler be reversed?
Hyaluronidase can break down hyaluronic acid filler, but full reversal is not guaranteed and more than one treatment may be needed. It has its own risks and cannot reliably reverse every complication.
What is the difference between lip filler and a lip flip?
Filler adds volume. A lip flip uses a small amount of Botox to relax the muscle so the upper lip shows a bit more, without adding volume. A lip flip is an off-label use of Botox.
Who should not get lip filler?
We do not treat patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or who have an active cold sore or infection in the area. If you get cold sores, tell your provider, since we may recommend medicine beforehand.
