Sebaceous hyperplasia

Sebaceous hyperplasia causes small, soft, yellowish or skin-colored bumps, often with a tiny dip in the center. They usually appear on the forehead, nose and cheeks in middle-aged and older adults. They come from enlarged oil glands and are harmless.
Because they can look like an early basal cell carcinoma, have new bumps checked.
How we treat it
- Electrocautery to flatten bumps
- Laser treatment
- Prescription retinoid creams to help prevent new bumps
