Radiesse is an injectable made of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a smooth gel. It adds volume right away and also helps the skin build new collagen over time.
Radiesse is used for selected facial folds, jawline concerns and hand volume loss, depending on the formulation and its approved indication. Your provider will review the proposed use and alternatives.

What to expect
During the treatment
The formulation may contain or be mixed with a numbing medicine and injected in small amounts. Treatment takes about 30 to 60 minutes.
After the treatment
Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common for a few days. Filler can rarely block a blood vessel, causing tissue injury, blindness or stroke. Seek immediate medical attention for vision changes, unusual severe pain or skin turning white or dusky after treatment.
Results
You see some results right away, with more improvement over the following months as collagen builds. Results can last a year or longer.

Q&A
How is Radiesse different from hyaluronic acid filler?
Radiesse adds volume and stimulates collagen. Unlike hyaluronic acid filler, it cannot be readily dissolved with hyaluronidase, so it is not used in some delicate areas like the lips or under the eyes.
How is it different from Sculptra?
Both help build collagen. Radiesse also adds some volume right away, while Sculptra works gradually.
