PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is made from a small sample of your own blood. The platelets are concentrated and injected into thinning areas of the scalp, where they may help support hair growth.
PRP works best for early to moderate thinning and is often combined with other treatments. It is considered an off-label treatment for hair loss, and results vary from person to person. A diagnosis comes first, so we treat the cause of your hair loss.

What to expect
Consultation
Your provider examines your scalp, asks about your history and may order tests to find the cause of your hair loss before recommending PRP.
During the treatment
A small amount of blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. The scalp is numbed, and the PRP is injected into the thinning areas.
After the treatment
The scalp may be tender or slightly swollen for a day or two. Most people go back to their day right away. Wait until the next day to wash your hair.
Results
A common plan is one treatment a month for three months, then maintenance every few months. Improvement usually takes a few months to show.

No. PRP for hair loss is a cosmetic treatment.
