Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy. Fine needles deliver heat below the surface of the skin, where it tightens tissue and triggers new collagen, while the surface heals quickly.

It can treat the face, neck and body, and the depth can be adjusted for each area. Because the energy is delivered under the surface, it can be used on many skin types.

What it treats

  • Loose or crepey skin on the face, jawline and neck
  • Acne scars
  • Uneven texture and enlarged pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin laxity on the body, such as the abdomen

What to expect

How to prepare

Avoid tanning and direct sun for a week or two before treatment. Stop retinoids and other strong actives a few days before unless your provider tells you otherwise. If you get cold sores, let us know, since we may suggest medicine before your visit.

During the treatment

Numbing cream is applied first so the treatment is comfortable. The handpiece is moved across the skin in passes. Most sessions take under an hour including numbing.

After the treatment

Expect redness, mild swelling and a sunburn-like feeling for a few days. You may see a faint grid pattern on the skin that fades within days. Use gentle skincare and sunscreen, and skip makeup for about a day.

Results

Some tightening shows within a few weeks, and results keep improving for about 3 months as collagen builds. Many people do a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart.

Morpheus8 Q&A

What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is radiofrequency microneedling. Tiny needles deliver heat under the skin to tighten it and help it make new collagen.

Does it hurt?

We apply numbing cream first. Most people feel heat and pressure during the passes. Your provider can adjust settings to keep you comfortable.

How many treatments will I need?

Many people do a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart. Your provider will suggest a plan based on your skin and goals.

How much downtime is there?

Most people have redness and mild swelling for a few days. Many go back to work within a day or two.

When will I see results?

Skin often looks smoother within a few weeks. Tightening continues to build for about 3 months after treatment.

Is Morpheus8 safe for darker skin?

Because the energy is delivered below the surface, Morpheus8 can be used on many skin types, including darker skin tones. Your provider will choose settings for your skin.

What areas can be treated?

The face, jawline, neck and body, including the abdomen, arms and thighs.

Who should not get Morpheus8?

We do not treat patients who are pregnant, or areas with an active infection or breakout. Tell us if you have a pacemaker or metal implants near the area.
