How to Prepare for Your XERF™ Treatment
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for at least one week prior to treatment. Discontinue retinoids, exfoliants, or active skincare products a few days before your appointment unless otherwise directed. Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, lotions, or sunscreen. Be sure to share any recent treatments or medical conditions with your provider to ensure optimal safety and results.
What to Expect During the Treatment
XERF™ treatments are comfortable and efficient, typically lasting 30–45 minutes depending on the area treated. You’ll feel a gradual warming sensation as controlled radiofrequency energy is delivered deep into the skin. Built-in cooling helps protect the surface, keeping the treatment tolerable without the need for downtime.
Post-Procedure Care
There is little to no downtime following XERF™. Mild redness or warmth may occur and typically resolves within a few hours. You can return to normal activities immediately, though it’s recommended to avoid intense heat, workouts, and sun exposure for 24 hours. Daily sunscreen use is encouraged to maintain and protect your results.
Temporary redness, warmth or mild swelling is common. Rarely, tenderness, blisters or burns can occur.
Expected Results and Treatment Timeline
Some patients notice subtle tightening shortly after treatment, with continued improvement over several weeks as collagen production increases. Most people see improvement after one treatment. For best results, we recommend 2 treatments about 4 to 6 weeks apart, then maintenance once or twice a year. Results are gradual, natural-looking, and designed to improve skin firmness and overall texture over time.
Is XERF right for you?
XERF works best for mild to moderate loose skin, fine lines and a softer jawline. It is not a replacement for a facelift when sagging is significant. Tell us if you have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, metal implants in the treatment area, or are pregnant, since RF may not be right for you.

How is XERF different from RF microneedling?
XERF heats the skin from the surface with no needles, no numbing and no downtime. RF microneedling, like SecretRF, delivers RF heat through needles at selected depths and is often chosen for scars and texture, with a day or two of redness.
