Cellulite is dimpled or lumpy skin, most common on the thighs, buttocks and hips. It happens when bands of connective tissue pull the skin down while fat pushes up. It is very common, especially in women, and is not a health problem.
Treatment can improve the look of cellulite, but no treatment removes it completely, and results vary.
Options depend on whether the main concern is dimpling, loose skin or excess fat. Reducing fat does not always smooth dimpling, so your provider will explain what each treatment can realistically change.
Your provider looks at the area and talks through which options suit you, how many sessions you may need and what results to expect.
Offered at all of our offices.
Weight loss can help in some people, but cellulite can appear at any weight.
It depends on the treatment. Maintenance sessions are often recommended.
