Microdermabrasion is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that exfoliates the top layer of skin using a device with a fine abrasive tip and light suction. It helps skin look smoother and brighter and can help with mild sun damage and clogged pores.
Microdermabrasion is offered at our Boulder office and is performed by our aestheticians.
Treatment takes about 30 minutes and feels like light scratching or suction. Skin may be pink for a few hours. There is usually little downtime, but irritation, bruising or sensitivity may last longer. Most people do best with a series of treatments.
Many people with sensitive skin can have it. Let your aesthetician know about any skin conditions, such as rosacea or eczema, so they can adjust or suggest another treatment.
Both exfoliate the skin surface. Dermaplaning uses a blade and removes fine hair. Microdermabrasion uses an abrasive tip and suction.
