Dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliation treatment. An aesthetician uses a sterile blade to lightly remove dead skin cells and fine facial hair, often called peach fuzz. Skin looks brighter and feels smoother, and makeup and skin care go on more evenly.
Dermaplaning is offered at our Boulder office and is performed by our aestheticians.
Your skin is cleansed, then the aesthetician moves the blade over the skin in short, gentle strokes. It is usually well tolerated, but irritation or small cuts can occur. Treatment takes about 30 minutes, often as part of a facial. There is usually little downtime, although redness and sensitivity can occur.
No. Dermaplaning does not change the thickness or color of hair.
It is not recommended during active acne breakouts, on sunburned skin or over a cold sore. Let your aesthetician know if you use retinoids or have had recent procedures.
Many people come every 4 to 6 weeks.
