LED light therapy exposes the skin to specific wavelengths of light. Blue light targets acne-causing bacteria, and red light is used to calm the skin and support collagen. It is generally well tolerated, but benefit and suitability depend on the device and condition.
You relax under an LED panel with eye protection for about 15 to 20 minutes. It feels like gentle warmth. A series of sessions usually gives the best results.
Offered at all of our offices.
LED treatment does not use ultraviolet light, but irritation and light sensitivity can occur. Eye protection and device-specific instructions matter. Tell your provider about photosensitivity and all medicines you take.
LED therapy works best alongside a medical acne plan, not instead of it.
