Medical Dermatology Treatments & Services

Annual and Semi-Annual Skin Exams (Skin Cancer Screenings)
Annual or semi-annual skin cancer screenings are just as important, if not more important than a regular physical. As we age and as our bodies change, we may experience changes to the skin, such as rashes, moles, marks, changes in tone or texture and more. Many of these changes are normal or harmless, but sometimes these changes can signify something more serious that needs treatment. We suggest that everyone get screened at least once per year, and we suggest twice per year screenings for anyone who has had or is at risk for having any type of skin cancer.
Skin Cancer Excisions

When skin cancers do present themselves, it is important to treat them early and to treat them with the appropriate interventions. It is always our preference to treat these types of lesions in the least invasive way possible. When it becomes necessary to excise a skin cancer, our team is highly skilled and trained to give you the best medical and aesthetic outcome. In cases where Mohs Surgery is needed or lesions require special attention, we have a team of experts who are ready to help.

Skin Cancer Treatments (Non-Invasive)

Often times, skin cancers can be treated non-invasively by either freezing them or using topical creams and ointments. It is always our first preference to treat non-invasively, and you and your provider can discuss your options during your visit.

Wart Treatments

Warts can be found on almost any part of the body, and when they present themselves, they can be stubborn and difficult to treat. At Mandel Dermatology, we use several methods for treating warts that range from topical treatments to excisions, when necessary.

Acne Treatment & Extraction

Acne, or pimples, can present on the face and body in varying severities. At Mandel Dermatology, we take a unique, personal, and comprehensive approach to treating and reducing or eliminating each patient’s acne. Treatments that include consistent and monitored methods are typically the most successful and can include in office extractions, laser treatments, or topical regiments. Our providers will work with each patient individually to determine the best treatment course, that can be adapted over time to increase the short and long-term effectiveness of the treatment.

Melanoma Signs & Treatment

The word Melanoma can be scary. You may be wondering, is Melanoma dangerous? Is Melanoma deadly? The good news, is that when caught early, Melanoma is highly treatable and most healthy patients see positive outcomes without long-term health problems. Melanoma is typically treated by excision or by Mohs surgery. The goal when treating Melanoma is to first catch it at the first potential sign, and then second to treat it quickly and effectively, ensure that all cancer cells have been removed. The best prevention against potential skin cancers like Melanoma is using sunscreen daily, having regular skin exams at least yearly, and being aware of any changes to your skin and marks on the body.

Basal Cell Carcinoma Signs & Treatment

Basal Cell Skin Cancer is less harmful than Melanoma, but still requires treatment. This type of skin cancer can be treated with a variety of methods depending on each specific case, and should be discussed with your provider.
