Since cosmetic procedure pricescan vary due to each patient’s specific needs, we always suggest having a cosmetic consultation to discuss your specific goals and budget. We can always tailor treatment plans to meet each patient's individual needs.

  • Do I need a referral for my medical visit, and how does that work?

Referral requirements are determined by your insurance plan. The best way to determine if a referral is needed prior to your appointment is by calling the nunmber on the back of your insurance card. Be sure to ask if a referral is needed to see a specialists. Referrals must be obtained prior to your appointment.

  • How long will I have to wait at my appointment?

We strive to keep in-office wait times to a minimum. At times when our office is busy, you may be waiting from 10-20 minutes, so we always suggest arriving early and filling out new patient paperwork ahead of time. We will do everything we can do decrease any waiting.

  • Why does someone have the same appointment time as me?

Our appointment blocks vary, but patients may have the same appointment times if they are seeing different providers Sometimes, patients who express their flexibility in accommodating a longer wait time will be double booked on our schedule.

  • What is Dr. Mandel's email address and cell number?

    e: doctormandel@mandelderm.com

    p: 516-777-0689

    Yes, really :)

  • How long does it take for my lab results to come back?

Regular lab results typically take 7-12 days, but cultures can take 14-30 days. We call all patients when their results are available, regardless of outcome. If results are taking longer than usual, this does not mean that the result will be undesirable. Length of time to receive results has no bearing on the outcome, and vice-versa.

  • Do you treat patients of all ages?

Yes! Our providers see both adult and pediatric patients of all ages and skin types.

  • Should I see a Dermatologist, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Associate?

At Mandel Dermatology, all providers who are available for appointments are trained and experienced so that you can see any provider and get the same five-star experience you expect from us.

All providers can diagnose, treat, and prescribe, and all of our providers are able to see medical and cosmetic patients.

  • Is there a fee for cosmetic consultations?

When visiting us for a cosmetic consultation, if you do not receive a treatment that day, you will be charged a $100 cosmetic consultation fee. This $100 fee will remain as a credit on your account, which can be applied to any future treatment at any time. This credit does not expire.
