Mandel Dermatology is now scheduling new patients at our new Palm Beach Gardens office, with appointments beginning September 8, 2026.

The office is located at 3345 Burns Road, Suite 101, and offers medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, skin cancer screenings and treatment, and hair-loss care in one practice.

New-patient appointments will be available with Mitchell J. Mandel, M.D., F.A.A.D., and Christine Sacco, FNP-C. Dr. Mandel is a board-certified dermatologist and the chief dermatologist of Mandel Dermatology. Christine Sacco is a family nurse practitioner who provides medical and cosmetic dermatology care in Palm Beach Gardens.

You Do Not Need to Have a Serious Skin Problem to Make an Appointment

Some new patients come in because something changed suddenly. They have a rash that will not go away, a painful cyst, a new growth, or a mole that looks different than it used to.

Others are simply overdue for a full body skin exam, want to get acne or rosacea under better control, or have a cosmetic concern they have been thinking about for a while.

What Happens at a New Medical Dermatology Appointment?

A medical dermatology visit usually starts with a conversation. Your provider will ask what brought you in, when the problem started, what has changed, and what you have already tried.

We will also review relevant medications, allergies, medical history, and prior dermatology records when they matter to the concern.

The examination depends on the reason for your visit. If you booked a focused appointment for acne, a rash, a cyst, or a specific spot, the provider will closely examine that area and any related skin findings. If you booked a full body skin exam, you will change into a gown so the provider can examine your skin more completely.

By the end of the visit, the goal is for you to understand what we think is happening and what comes next. That may include a prescription, an over-the-counter skincare plan, an in-office treatment, a biopsy, additional testing, or a follow-up appointment to see how you are responding.

Not every concern can be completely resolved in one visit, but you should leave with a clear plan rather than a vague recommendation to “wait and see.”

What Happens at a New Cosmetic Dermatology Appointment?

A cosmetic appointment feels different because the starting point is not a diagnosis, it is your goal.

You may want to soften expression lines, replace subtle volume loss, improve pigmentation, reduce acne scarring, brighten your skin, or simply understand which treatments would make the most meaningful difference.

During the appointment, your provider will ask what bothers you, what result you are hoping for, whether you have had prior treatments, and whether you are working around an event or particular timeline. Your skin and facial features will then be evaluated in person so recommendations are based on you, not on a generic treatment menu.

The Palm Beach Gardens office offers services including neuromodulators such as Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, and Daxxify, dermal fillers, Kybella, microneedling, pigmentation treatments, chemical peels, PRP for hair loss, and additional cosmetic options.

Your provider will explain which treatments are most appropriate, what kind of improvement is realistic, expected downtime, how treatments may be sequenced, and the cost. Mandel Dermatology publishes upfront cosmetic pricing so patients can understand typical pricing before moving forward.

Depending on the treatment, the appointment type you selected, and the time available, treatment may be performed during the same visit or scheduled for a separate appointment.

What If You Have Both Medical and Cosmetic Concerns?

That is common. A patient may want a skin cancer screening and also want to discuss brown spots, redness, wrinkles, or another cosmetic concern.

Please include both concerns when booking. Medical and cosmetic visits are scheduled differently, and letting us know in advance helps us reserve enough time and place you with the right provider.

It also helps avoid confusion about insurance. Medical dermatology services may be submitted to insurance when appropriate. Cosmetic consultations and treatments are generally self-pay because they are elective.

Will the Palm Beach Gardens Office Accept Insurance?

The Palm Beach Gardens office will accept most major commercial insurance plans as well as Medicare. Because participation can vary by the exact plan, network, and product, it is important to verify your specific coverage before the appointment.

What Should You Bring to Your First Appointment?

For a medical appointment, bring your photo identification, insurance card, medication list, and any relevant pathology reports or prior dermatology records. Photos can also be helpful when a rash or flare looked worse on an earlier day.

For a cosmetic appointment, come prepared to explain what you would like to improve. Bringing photos of yourself from a few years ago can sometimes be more useful than bringing a celebrity photo because it shows your own natural facial structure and how it has changed.
